Artist Statement
I’m planning to use my creative talents to elevate The Ohio States Black Student Association organization by helping out with creative content and captivating stories of black students on campus.

My name is Justin Volley. I’m an Ohio born and raised creative. I first got interested in shooting photography and video during the summer of 2019. Coming out of high school, I initially wanted to pursue architecture but after going to my first concert and seeing travis scott perform on his tour ASTROWORLD I knew I wanted to be involved in the music and entertainment industry. Since then, I’ve been captivating and evolving my creative visuals. My motto is to “capture future nostalgia,” and with my art, I can solidify that. I want people to reflect on my work and feel a bond and connection with it.
My community is mostly my college. The Ohio State University has helped me meet so many new and different types of people. I’ve learned about so many different kinds of cultures and ideals. It’s super important for me to get out of my comfort space as often as possible and experience life from others’ perspectives.
I plan to use my creative talents to elevate The Ohio States Black Student Association organization by helping with creative content and captivating stories of black students on campus. Through this, I want to help grow our reach to the younger generation about college life and give them a vision and goal to look forward to after graduating high school.
